Iranian composer and bassoonist Alireza Motevaseli has been invited for the third time to the Crescendo Summer Music Institute (CSI) 2024 as an International Ambassador Artist. CSI brings together emerging musicians and professional artists from around the world for collaboration, performance, and masterclasses in an intensive summer program.

During his residency, Motevaseli will participate in several special performances, highlighting his compositions and soloist work:

  1. János Vajda 75th Anniversary Celebration
    • Location: Hungary
    • Work: Sonatine for Bassoon & Piano
    • Collaborative Pianist: Rita Termes
      Motevaseli will perform as bassoon soloist in honor of Vajda’s lifetime contributions to music.
  2. The Mourning Dance
    • Location: Town Hall, Tokaj, Hungary
    • Conductor: Thomas Fortner (USA)
    • Performers:

      • Dag Andres Erikson – 2nd Violin (Norway)
      • Dinu Serfezi – Viola (Romania)

      • Jean-Jacques Goumaz – Oboe (Switzerland)
      • Petr Kubik – Clarinet (Czech Republic)
    This recent composition by Motevaseli will be performed by CSI faculty, showcasing his distinctive compositional voice and the ensemble’s international caliber.

In addition to performances, Motevaseli will lead masterclasses, collaborative sessions, and workshops, sharing his expertise with young musicians and fostering cross-cultural exchange. His repeated invitation underscores his artistic excellence and his role as an ambassador for international music collaboration.
